Commonwealth Games Jobs and Skills Academy

The West Midlands Combined Authority has allocated funding to support residents into employment and upskilling ahead of the Commonwealth Games, 2022.

Through our partner providers we are able to support fully funded qualifications in the West Midlands that could support you starting a new career, getting a promotion at work or even starting your own business.

To be eligible you must be:

  • Aged 19 or above on 31 August 2020
  • Living in a West Midlands Combined Authority Postcode.

A range of courses are being offered in Event management, Digital marketing, Hospitality, Health, Lifestyle and Science, Sports coaching and Team Leading across 4 different Training Providers with a total investment of £1,000,000 provided.

There are different funding routes if you are Employed or Unemployed, so please refer to the list below to identify courses you could potentially be eligible for.

Course delivery can accommodate all learning styles with all of our providers being able to provide a blended approach, especially in the current climate.

All courses will require a commitment to self-learning, with learners having access to tutorials from experienced tutors and assessments taking place via assignment, observation and testing (dependant on course undertook).
