One of the challenges of lockdown is keeping fit while in isolation. WV Active want to help you stay active, so they have launched an innovative range of online services to inspire and support you at home.
WV Active are live streaming sessions from their centre every weekend, so you can take part in a live workout online. The free workouts have been developed to encourage those who may have limited space and equipment at home to stay active. They are also sharing regular fitness videos and resources on for all ages and abilities on their social media.
Staying active is important for your physical and mental wellbeing. WV Active have also launched a personal virtual coaching service, to help you get the most out of your exercise. You can chat with CoachAi on Facebook Messenger for motivation and guidance for your exercise routine.
All this is happening while the WV Active Aldersley leisure centre has been converted into a food distribution hub. Hundreds of council staff have been redeployed to run the hub 24/7 to deliver supplies. The free parcels of essential foods and supplies are delivered to those most in need. With a fleet of 40 vans making deliveries across the city, the hub has the capacity to distribute 30,000 parcels a week.
Many of the WV Active team are helping out at the food distribution centre, and some are even running fun warm up sessions for the volunteers!
In these challenging times, it is important for us all to look after our wellbeing. Organisations like WV Active are helping us to stay active whilst staying safe.
