The Arden Community Group is a new community initiative coordinating local support. Representatives from all sectors of the community have pulled together to help each other and get through the challenges presented by coronavirus.
The Arden Community Group website pools resources from across the Arden areas of Solihull in one place. It acts as a unified communications and support infrastructure to unite volunteers and organisations across Knowle, Dorridge, Bentley Heath and further afield.
Locals are encouraged to adopt a postcode, acting as a main point of contact and support for their postcode area. This hyper-local, cohesive approach ensures that help is spread across the B93 region and that no one is left out.
Volunteers are encouraged to share their stories and ideas to inspire others. Projects include a food bank scheme, shopping and prescription collection and a telephone buddy scheme. They have also partnered with Arden Academy to produce and distribute scrubs and visors to frontline healthcare workers.
Arden Community Group is a fantastic example of people uniting to provide support across the whole community, which may be especially challenging in more rural areas.
